Fucking cut the lot, as becomes possible. Thompson, constantly off position, not following play. Franklin, ball watching. Mabika, both playing sloppily and slow to react. Gavran miles off his line with them in possession.
Meanwhile, Etienne and Flores are invisible and Insigne can't hit the broad side of a barn.
The only two players who haven't embarrassed themselves have been Petretta and Bernardeschi, and the latter is forcing too much.
This team started the year shutting out MLS teams, and it's like they've done nothing but regress. I know injuries have played a big part, but I worry greatly about the coaching right now as well. John's big deal has always been his motivational ability. But these guys are playing like they couldn't give a toss.

But as to Forge...
Nah, I'm not seeing the Forge as all that good, to be honest.
I think our static offence plays into their defensive strengths and our defensive stupidity gifts goals - but Forge can't get the ball for a good long bits of that match and their passing is pretty poor.

Oh yeah. Despite the fact that Gavran is ten yards past our box with them in possession, he declares it "really not Gavran's fault." The guy who trained him.
More than anything tonight, our lack of pace is killing us. We're playing like we're in treacle, and I can't help but think that Herdman's statement to them in the last game to play with more control and less abandon is seriously backfiring. They're trying to walk the ball up the damn field.
When they get to the offensive zone, the movement into support positions is so slow that each passer can only take the short pass to the outlet, over and over. The only times that changes is when they don't drop into shape quickly and leave us the corners.
I mean, Herdman should be tearing eight strips of leather-bound shit off them right now, asking them to prove they give a damn.
Any other MLS club playing their first team would destroy them. If we weren't playing Mabika instead of Long and Johnson were in net, I doubt they'd have the two they have tonight. We still possessed the ball for something like 65% of the play. We're just utterly shit right now.
Finally, I thought I was alone in thinking Kosi Thompson was not very good.
