We better not be resting anyone because this is a non-MLS game. With the way our team is playing right now we will be lucky to be competitive in this game. If Forge did their homework they will cross in balls for headers. Apparently our entire team has no idea how to defend anything like that. They just all stand around looking at each other. It wasn't just the last game that this was an obvious problem either.

Has any team gone a whole season playing only one game with their preferred starting lineup? That's what we're on, I think.

I mentioned they're hiring a soft-tissue injury specialist as a result of this. They'd been using a well-regarded local clinic prior.

just today a reporter excited about the return of servania asked if he could be back for this game as he was listed for a july return and a couple weeks back herdman said he was doing very well in his recovery...what does herdman answer? he very casually says that servania has had a couple setbacks and will now be back in august...and he said as if it was a very normal thing at tfc...how does a player who is doing great in his recovery and is close to a return suddenly have a couple of setbacks and is pushed back a month??

with all these injuries and setbacks its clear that it can only be two things or a mix of them: bad pitches and bad treatment/care

and until they change that we'll always have 5+ players out

but how many teams have all their players available for a big number of games? theres always players injured suspended away...and your squad has to be good enough for when they are out...but even if we have a full squad im not sure its great...maybe a team that is fighting for playoffs...long makes tons of mistakes johnson often looks close to a blunder laryea is good but it feels like his body will fall apart with the demands of mls insigne bernardeschi are good but its just the same movements over and over and smart teams will shut it down...and above all that theres nothing amazing tactically...its just insisting on the back three and short pass buildup...if teams prepare and counter this stuff properly we're cooked

Probable, that this delay in his return is still injury related. Possible though, that he may be on the trade/transfer block and that this happenstance is also a convenient and believable excuse for the time being.

Even as bad as we've been in MLS, a lot of it has been late collapsing, stupid small eras at the speed of the MLS game. Forge are well coached and disciplined, but if we don't make the mistake Montreal did of swapping out half our starters, we should still handle them by a couple of goals.

If we play a half MLSNext lineup we'll probably lose. But I think he's been told to take this very seriously, given how the regular season is sliding away.

I am not sure why, but I have an incredible dislike for that bald idiot who coaches Forge. It might be the OnePropaganda agenda that seems to suggest he is a leading candidate for every job from the CMNT to TFC to Barcelona or just his arrogance in interviews.

    We need a decisive win.

I for one am getting a little tired of Sigma/Forge's obsession with proving themselves vs. TFC.

    e.g.

They came out on July 4th with a "TFC are Americans" thing on social media - made some sense with Jozy & Bradley but right now we have as many Italians as Americans (I'm counting Petretta as an Italian)

Like, I suspect this game will be tough for TFC and I would not be surprised at a loss. But the constant "we are better - the rest of you are stupid for not thinking so" stuff is just lame.

People wise...pretty much given all the available not starting starters (but Johnson) are on the bench.

gonna guess they go with 3 in the middle as forge is very strong there

    insigne etienne
    franklin petretta flores thompson bernardeshi
    gomis mabika o'neill
    gavran

maybe bernardeschi up front though and etienne at wb

they have mabika in there to deal with 6'3 poku though poku might actually be better on the ground than in the air so might be a risky matchup

Cash not in the lineup probably indicates the end of the road for him in Toronto. He is serving no purpose right now beyond a bench spot.

Given the Canadian content rules, this looks like they chose to start Etienne over Longstaff.

    HAHAHAHA.

I mean, Gavran was so far forward what the fuck did he think was going to happen? Every player in MLS would've tried that, given his positioning.

Well, see how they react to that, I guess.
