I believe that we are not as bad as we looked (I still believe in Vanney, that was a very rusty, patchwork lineup), and that getting punched out of CCL is maybe good for us in terms of giving us space and time to round into form.
But the next two months are guaranteed awful.

How can TFC be so unprepared as a team after a full preseason, even with the uncertainty about particular players? How can the team be so unprepared for a match, regardless of opponent?
This assumes they were trying. I guess it is possible that they weren't, for whatever reasons.
Guys, I know we're all hurting from this, but let's not take it out on each other - Take it out on the FO instead.
There has to be a banner next week to tell them we hold them accountable for this mess.
That said, this result means there's no way we see Pozuelo before end of Genk's playoff season. I'd love to see Manning's face when he finds out the results.

MLS is a tough, physical league, that emphasizes speed, and features plastic fields, grueling travel, extreme weather, and incompetent refs. - NK Toronto
So... should we all just go ahead and kill ourselves already, now that Og and ensco are officially doom and gloom for 2019?
TORONTO FC, 2017 MLS CHAMPIONS!!! (Still the greatest in league history!)
well at least we wont have to fill out the opt out form for the next round

as horrible as tonights performance was the outright betting odds did not change
that could mean one of two things:
1) the oddsmakers did not really pay attention to tonights game and did not reflect how bad we were in the odds yet
or
2) the oddsmakers are not viewing this result in any way as reflective of what they forsee for the upcoming season for TFC
I believe it is the #2 scenrio
Deep breaths. CCL may be a write off, but with the right signings (big if), we can be a playoff team and get the CanChamp. The season is long and we still have some solid blocks upon which to build.
Today sucks balls. Big time. My ire is pointed directly at management, but they still have some time to salvage something from 2019. I’d take a flip of last year, where an early CCL exit turns into a good regular season and a deep playoff run. Sure, we were a Delgado miss away from winning last year, but we ended up with nothing. Maybe this season should be about MLS and the playoffs.
Nice of Ali Gerba to leave some pie for T. Boyd.
TFC in the banter eras went down to Panama and either won under Winter (with 16 yo Henry at CB) or lost 1-o under Preki finishing with 9 men.
The Vanney era we go in tucking in fullbacks into the midfield while trying to walk every attack into the back f the net Arsenal 2015 style.
What a damn embarasement. Its not even like the GK stood on his head, he had zero saves. Well MLSE has my 2000$ already before they decide to check out of this season. Awesome.
My weather app (Carrot) is forecasting 3-6 inches of snow on Tuesday starting in the afternoon. -6 with a low of -11.
It's early, so it may be too early to tell with a forecast, but maybe that's the only advantage we will have over the Panamanian side on Tuesday.
Going to need weather advantage as Vanney will get out-coached again.
Bradley and the ever missing Altidore earned more this week then that entire team earns in a whole year. Its like Barcelona getting blown out 4-0 to a Swedish club. Embarrassing they should be under fire but scanning TFC news there's nothing.
I just am looking at this thread now to get a sense of the meltdown that I knew would be here. Haha. That was bad though. No doubt. Feels like we picked up right from 2018 with having injuries keeping guys out of the lineup already. Vanney never changed the formation quick enough to adjust. Not sure how that can happen in the pros. Unless I am missing something as an armchair manager Just seemed like a beer league game on the TFC side. With a full preseason and no post season to worry about last year I really thought we had the chance to come out flying this year. Seems like they never had a practice yet with guys not seeming to know their positions. As soon as I saw the lineup I knew we were in trouble. What were they doing in Cali this whole time? I guess some of those preseason results were pretty telling after all. And Boyd, I never saw him play before but man I was expecting a little more. Good to see he fits in well with all the other great penalty takers we have on TFC. I still think we can salvage something of the MLS season being so early in the year so I am not totally pessimistic but CCL is done I think if I had to follow my gut even if we by some fluke pull out a comeback in Toronto like the Miracle in Montreal. Next round will be tougher than this team. On the brighter side.....maybe I will get back to you on that. LOL.
If Caldwell was right about the tactics - and he sounded quite credible when you saw what happened - this game will be very bad for Vanney in the dressing room. Why would you buy into his tactics when they didn't work and he didn't change them? Very very bad game for this team and there may be serious consequences.
Someone said the team thinks it is better than it is - I think management thinks it is better than it is. Seba made that point, subtly, last year when he said that we shouldn't be celebrating the previous years win any more.
