Years of "why does Delgado always pass it back?" & "Geez, he couldn't hit a barn" & "why doesn't he actually follow the runners into our box" ...all that seems to have been forgotten around here.
Delgado came good in 2017 but there were a few years before that when people on here groaned as he entered.
I have patience with Longstaff because he is positionally sound and his passes don't threaten a counter. Coello seems to be passing to the ghosts of his academy teammates.
I am hoping that when Insigne returns that Oso moves back and plays with Longstaff and Flores - that to me is our best midfield (I think we need better though).
It does seem Herdman knows well that he’s not playing Oso in his best position… I expect that to change when Insigne is back.
I was not a complainer about Delgado and thought his strengths outweighed his weaknesses. He was promising and good when he arrived with us young and with plenty of pro experience.
I will put my hand up and say I found his lack of ability to provide anything to the attack was annoying. And not hitting the side of a barn continues to be an apt descriptor.
But, in retrospect, this isn’t a league where you get players that can do all the things he does plus attack for the sort of money he’s paid. So it is what it is.
It honestly makes me happy to see people finally appreciating what Marky brought us. The guy was doing what he was doing here while being younger than Coello is right now (24). Hell, Delgado is still only 28.

4-3-3? Unless Bernie is the RWB?
Yeh I'm thinking thats Berne as WB.
Didn't realize Jesus Ferreira was back for Dallas. Definitely gonna need to watch out for him in the second half.
Insigne chilling out?
Herdman said Insigne at the earliest is a week today.
Berne the WB
&
Midfield getting outnumbered early.
Caldwell saying Petretta faked that injury… he really is the worst with this stuff… flashbacks to when Beitashour got put in the hospital for 2 months on what was the dirtiest play I have ever seen in a Montreal game, and Caldwell said “there is nothing in it for me”
"There are some people who might have better technique than me, and some may be fitter than me, but the main thing is tactics. With most players, tactics are missing. You can divide tactics into insight, trust, and daring." - Johan Cruyff
Thank god for Apple TV. Goodbye Caldwell.
He stamped on his foot and bulled him over, you meat head.
16' rosted in petretta out
18k at least here
in the space of two minutes osorio gives away two balls and gets caught offside once
Not that means anything to results but we are better than them.
FINALLY! Bernardeschi with a GREAT goal.
I suppose that is clear and obvious
PK saved, soft rebound, IN. False alarm the first time.
Not a penalty at all. Remember that call next time we get mad at the refs.
Very good half, especially defensively.
I’ll take the 1-0 lead.
the explanation for the pen from the announcers side was that the defender didn't get around Osorio to get the ball, had to push him from behind to even get there.
Etienne's technical abilities have surprised me so far. Lots of clever little touches and a great understanding of his teammates for someone who has only been here 14 or so days.
Dallas look inert.
