Yes, salaries are going up in MLS - or at least, the divide between "have's" and "have not's" is. Anyone who argues otherwise is daft.
But that doesn't change the fact that his time to negotiate a better deal, is in two years when his current deal is expiring. You don't get to demand a contract renegotiation every time the player market changes around you.
He's entitled to complain of course, as any citizen with free speech rights is. But that doesn't mean anyone has to approve of his actions. I feel like that is the dispute here.
If he was worried about the market passing him by, then it was his responsibility to do the prudent thing and sign a shorter extension with the team - or better yet, no extension at all. Instead, he hedged his bets, and signed a four year contract for the security. Now he's complaining, because his bet didn't pay off.
